Inkspread

In one line

Inkspread collects no personal data, sends nothing to any server, and asks for no permissions.

1. Overview

Inkspread ("the app") is an Android comic reader made by BYJW.Studio ("we"). All the app does is open comic files you already have. It neither provides nor downloads any content.

This policy explains what information the app handles and where that information stays.

2. Personal data we collect

None. The app collects no personal data of any kind — no name, email, phone number, device identifier or location. There is no account and no sign-in.

3. Files the app reads

The app reads only the folders and files you pick yourself in Android's own file picker (the Storage Access Framework). It cannot see anything you have not picked.

  • Access is read-only. The app never modifies or deletes your files.
  • File contents are processed on the device, purely to draw them on screen.
  • You can withdraw this access at any time in Android settings.

4. What is stored on your device

The following is stored on your device only. We have no access to it.

  • Your library — file locations, series names, volume numbers
  • Reading position — the last page you saw in each volume
  • Settings — reading direction, display style, cropping, white point, button mapping and so on

Uninstalling the app removes all of it. Since nothing is backed up, you will need to pick your folder again on a new device.

5. Network activity

The app declares no internet permission and makes no network connections. There is no analytics library, no advertising SDK and no crash reporting SDK in it.

Android Auto Backup is switched off as well. The operating system does not copy the app's data into your Google account backup or carry it over in a device transfer. What you read leaves your device by no route at all.

6. Third parties

We do not sell, share or otherwise give your information to third parties. The app integrates no third-party services.

7. Permissions requested

The app declares no Android permissions at all. It does not ask for location, contacts, camera or storage permissions; file access happens only through the picker described in section 3.

8. Deleting your data

  • Uninstall the app — everything it stored on the device goes with it.
  • Android Settings > Apps > Inkspread > Storage > Clear data — resets the app without uninstalling.
  • Withdraw folder access at any time in Android settings.

9. Children's privacy

Because the app collects no personal data, it collects none from children either. The app is not directed at children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will post the updated text and date on this page. If a new feature changes what information the app handles, we will update this document before releasing that feature.
